Product planning just got easier with Product HQ

As a product in beta, we are constantly releasing new key features based on customer feedback on what would make Product HQ a one stop shop for product management. Based on user feedback, we have implemented a new module called Discovery which kicks off the Product Management workflow within Product HQ. Discovery allows product managers to complete to key tasks inside of the platform and streamline and connect the exercises to their overall product roadmap. The new features include a Competitor Comparison and Analysis setup and User Interview management. As Product managers ourselves, we know the value that a strong user interview to collect feedback on your product can bring in driving new ideas as well as a maintaining an update to date competitor comparison view to ensure you are constantly differentiating and staying above the curve. Now both product manager tasks can be completed within Product HQ.
User Interviews For Customer Feedback
Within Discovery, you will now find a new section called User Interviews. Within here, you can see all of the past user interviews you have completed or start a new one. Within Settings, you can define in advance the questions you plan to ask and organize your interviews within the user interview form.
Within each user interview you complete you can track the customer answers from your discussion and generate new ideas for your product as a result. You can also track if you have completed the full feedback loop by replying to the customer based on their suggestions and feedback and mark the feedback closed once you have to ensure a full circle was completed to encourage feedback from the user in the future.
Competitor Comparison Management
Very often, competitor comparisons are done early on in a business or product life to understand the lay of the land. The issue is that like you, your competition is constantly building new features as well so while you may have had an advantage at one point, you may not anymore. It is important to track your competitors and complete normal reviews of their features to ensure your product maintains an advantage. Also, completing competitor comparisons is a great way for you to generate new ideas for your product.
Within Discovery in Product HQ you can now see the new Competition area of your platform:
For each competitor, you can track their best features, their weakness or missing features, how you differentiate from them and when the last review was to ensure you do not loose track of time and forget to review their site again in the future.
Product HQ has set out to streamline all of the various responsibilities and tasks that product managers have to make being a great product manager easier. Discovery of competitor features and completing user interviews are two constant tasks for product managers and we are confident that the inclusion of these within your overall framework of idea and feature management will help you keep a full picture of the product you are managing.
